NUL is currently in preparation for Season 5. Sign up now!


Season 5 is currently schedule to start November the 28 (depending on the scheduled final and qualification to Valhalla from Ulls), which means that you have to apply your participation before that date, if you know already how you will act please keep us informed.

The official date of kick off is 28/11 when we can apply to each division.

The games will start 28th of November.
The season will commence with one match day per week, and have maximum 9 matches.
As season 5 every starts with fresh teams and all "Old" teams from Ulls and Valhalla are set on pause.
Pause meaning that you CAN enter NUL again with the old teams.

New members
1: Create an account on this forum
2. Activate the account when it is approved
3: Post a reply in this thread that you want to join.
4: Read the "Essential rules" section here (http://norscaleague.com/index.php?topic=65.0) and post a reply in that thread that you have understood the rules.
5: The Coordinator will put you on the participant list in this post.

Old members - using a team previously used in NUL
1: Reply to this post or send a PM to the Coordinator and state that you want play next season using a previously used team.
2: The Coordinator will put you up on the participant list in this post.

Old members - rerolling team
1: PM the Coordinator and state that you want to play with a rerolled team. The Coordinator will reply with some questions.
2: You have two options: a) Venture to the town of Cowpenhaven and try to find contributors to your team b) be lazy and do nothing
3: The Coordinator will put you up on the participant list.

Boom Bats will take a season off and return at a later date. We need to reproduce first (the rats that is) :)

Havent got the time as I used to and have just started BB'ing in real life. :)
Furthermore I have a sneaky suspicion 100% of my gaming time will be used on "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" :D

Don't forget about Crusader Kings II in early -12, BF3 was just released and Tropico 4. I really have to quit my dayjob.  ;D

Btw, anyone know anything about the BB patch coming up in 2012 ?!? Noticed that GW seems to hint about re-releasing BB tabletop so perhaps there will be a whooping event then. :o

Well we could have two 4 team divisions, but that might feel a bit lame. One big division might be harsh for some teams, but more diverse for all.

Would a new TV1000 division be totally out of the question? I can't really see how we could blend together the teams we have participating atm.

Here are the options that come to mind in no particular order of preference:

A) 1 division w 8 teams in 1 group
- potentially punishing for lower TV teams
+ lots of games
B) 1 divison w 8 teams in 2 groups
- less games
+ groups could be evened out according to TV
C) 1 division w new (TV1000) teams.
- coaches w experienced teams are not rewarded w sticking w their teams
+ even playing ground, lots of games

With the two group option (B) I see two possibilities for playing around with the groups:
1. Two groups first play against the teams in their own group and then playoffs could be between all the teams with A1-B4, A2-B3, A3-B2 and A4-B1. (at least 4 games for each player, max 7 games)
2. two groups first play against the teams in their own group and then the two top seeds from both groups (A1, A2, B1, B2) form their own "champs" group who all play against each other while the bottom two seeds (A3, A4, B3, B4) form own "well, we made a go for it" group who all play against each other (at least 3+3 games for each player). If I understand correctly how the league settings work the first part of this would have to played within a new feeder division and the second part could be the traditional Valhalla and Ulls divisions.

OK, have to run now, weekly board-gaming evening starting soon. Will write in later with some other thoughts.

Continuing on the previous message here. In my opinion the most important factor in maintaining the TV differences in the league at tolerable level is to keep the amount of games teams play on equal level. More games means more spp potential and 5 sure spps for the MVP. In current situation the playoff teams get extra games and therefore they have the potential of boosting their TV further while the out-of-playoff teams have their TV stagnant. I understand that more games also means more possibilities for deaths and minus stats but for most (high AV) teams the possibility for gain is worth more than the risk. Therefore I think we should try to even the number of games teams play by organizing some extra games for out of playoff teams (playout games?).

As to the next NUL season, I'm open for all options. I would like to give the Kittens one more go and try to get redemption from those nasty NattBowlers  ;) but new teams are also OK with me.

We could also think about giving the coaches possibility of operating two different teams on different league levels i.e. coaches with old teams could start fresh teams and play them in lower division while their old teams play in the higher division. This would of course only work if enough coaches think they would have time and interest in this kind of system.

Well, I'm out of ideas now. Any more ideas or feedback, anyone?

We could do brand new league with brand new teams so i guess we would get like 8 ? and of course we could continue other leagues with 4 each too which i would like to. I mean im okay if i play at ulls if i have to. I mean i just would like to play.. we should get quite lot of games with this too.

Well, I am in for anything really.

We could pause high TV teams, and so we can get a better lvl TV wise all over and start a 8 team division.
If we like that, the teams that paused are of course welcomed back when the other teams has grown a bit, so to speak.

But then on what team level shall we say is good enough?

I'm all for starting fresh, although I'm go for any format as long as I can count on getting a game per week  ;)

Starting anew gets my support also. Can't say I'd miss the brutalised brothers too much. So promising start with three +MAs and so dissapointing meltdown of deaths and injuries *sigh*. Gotta take an AV9 team next :D

All righty then!

So, everyone starts with new teams and all in one group.
Every "old" team remains as they are and are entitled to enter at the same spot as they left NUL's previously division.
So, when we are ready it is Okey to ditch the new Or the old one IF the Old team has Not had any games apart from NUL.
One game outside NUL and that team is not welcomed back.
If your Old team has tv 1100 they count as new.

You are welcomed to join "NUL: Feeders".
And of course if this attracts more coaches we will extend from 8players to what ever we end up with.

ps I really suggest to not have more than two teams of the same Race.

I am new to the forums and the community and I would like to join the league with a brand new orc team (Orkitis B.C.). I'm not really sure if this league is only for specific countries or everyone is welcome (I read the rules and I couldn't find anything about it, but in some other threads it seems like you're looking for scandinavian players). In that case I would appreciate if you let me join the league.

Since this is my first post I guess I can introduce myself, I'm from Spain, I've been playing Bloodbowl for a while now in MM but I've always prefered the round robin format for an exciting league without all the MM farming and bad sports.

Actually a friend of ours (me, Jerxou & Oller) was meaning to apply and his forum account seems to already be active too, but he must have not noticed yet. Hello there!

I am also new here (tho I know Konna, Jerxou and Oller from other games :P), and I'd like to join the league. I haven't done a team yet since I don't know what teams are involved in the league already, and I'd rather make a team which is unique to the league.

And umm, something about myself: I'm a Finnish player, I don't have heavy experience of bloodbowl, but have played some games, mostly against jerxou, konna and oller, and really they've taught me into this, so it would be awesome to be able to be a part of a bigger league to face a higher variety of opponents.

About the new season, I'm probably going to go for a bit shorter and more "form-like" match reports in my own matches. But being interested in writing, I'm thinking that could write one of my longer "traditional" match reports from some other players matches each week. I would of course need the replay file of the match for the write-up. Requests for the style and method of the match report of the week would be taken but not nescessarily respected. So is anybody interested in this?

And by the way, Gron Grumbundy asked me to tell everyone that Blood Sports Spotlight has signed a broadcast deal for their second season and they have hired a stats expert.

Yeah, Kvasilad is the guy I recruited, I can vouch for him  ;D

If we can't get another team within a couple of days, I'm all for a dummy team. I assume that the matches would be admined wins against such a team in that case? Gives a slight advantage to teams with expensive positionals and teams who gets to face the dummy team early, but it's no more luck based than the rest of the game  ::) On another note I full-heartedly endorse BBManager. The only thing that beats having to see your team ground to mincemeat by dorfs is the option for other players to gleefully watch it afterwards. Should make for interesting match reports and stats analysis.

Np, I'll start the league on Monday, and it seams that you missed the start.
Not that I'd like to be harsh but we need to get this going now and you need a friend also as yourself noticed earlier.
Other than that you need to read the instructions and agree with them, take your time pal.
If we will encounter any dropouts I'll send you a pm directly if your interested (it's all there below New members in this post on page 1)
