Hello,

I'll try to post all the possibilities for this tense end of season match day... a real nail biter with 5 teams fighting for 2 spots!

For this report I'm assuming the following tie-breakers: TD difference, Direct confrontation, TDs against, TDs for. Admins, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

So, here are the combinations.

First, the two teams on the lead, who battle each other: Mad Science Fair and Gentlemen Wolf-Whistlers!

Whoever wins secures a spot! The loser might have a chance if neither Ratdonald's, The Partly Animals or The Silver Hunters win! In the event of a draw, they would both make it in case the other teams draw. If RD's, TSH, GWW and MSF draw (allow me to use the acronyms to save some time), TPA would have to win by a 4 TD margin to make it through! However, if they win by 3 TDs, it's a triple tie on top, with MSF and GWW making it through because of their defence!

Let's look at the other three contestants, with 10 points each: all of them need a win to secure a spot, but some have it easier than others!

The chances for The Partly Animals (who face Chaotic Dudes, a team with nothing big at stake, since they will finish 6th or 7th no matter what) are as follows: Only a win works for them, plus MSF or GWW have to lose, and RD's and TSH have to tie. Then they'd make it through! As noted previously, in case TSH and GWW tie, they'd need a 4+ lead to make it.

The last direct duel of the day is Ratdonald's vs The Silver Hunters (who have made an exceptional comeback, by the way!). This one is easier though, whoever wins will get a ticket to the final, unless TPA manage to win by a whooping 7 TDs (or more, depending on the final result).

It seems the league has effectively two semi-finals going on: Barmution vs J-Reedy and The Golden Arrow vs Luiggi. However, in the event of one or two draws, kvasilad might clinch a seat in the finals!

I wouldn't like to finish this message without mentioning the other match of the day: Klar Karond Seahaws vs Getingarna. It will show who gets the unfortunate last spot of the league, and could be a great spectacle between two teams who play very dynamically.

Thanks for the nice playoff scenario report Luiggi!

Okey-dokey Barm, time to see if science will triumph over slapstick. Here are my OK starting times, CET/GMT+1:

- Tuesday 20-21
- Wednesday 18-21
- Thursday 18-20
- Saturday - will let you know later, if nescessary, probably whole evening will work

Let me know if any of these suits you, sir.

The only one of those you listed I can do is Saturday evening so far. No chance of playing tonight (Monday) at 20-21?

Sorry, can't do tonight, Monday night is reserved for my board gaming group. Saturday should however work, just pick a time and I'll plan my day around it.

I can play tonight and maybe on Friday and maybe on Sunday.

Otherwise we could try Friday morning, not sure if that's an option for you though.

I have an old user on BGG but haven't used it in a while. I know that kvasi's a boardgamer too so maybe a subforum here would be cool? ;D

A current favourite is Terra Mystica. So many different factions (with a lot of variety), so many options and yet so balanced!

Cool, I'm a board gamer as well. Will attend GothCon (big, ~2000 persons, game convention in Gothenburg)this year (as I have done for 24 years straight now). Saw Terra Mystica in the folder and was a bit interested. Now I will make sure to test it out.

Lasseman, time for the classic bash vs agility matchup!

I haven't got a full overview of my week yet, but I think I can play tomorrow (Wednesday) from 1800 and out, and probably most of the day Saturday and Sunday. Friday _may_ be possible, but uncertain, so other days would be preferred. Thursday is definitely no-go.

The mach between the woodelfs and the chaos has been played. The first half when chaos stated with the ball was charactaristict by a rooted three, an a bit failed wizard, a slow march  towards the end zone and 2 perfect defence. The tree was rooted already in the first elf turn and was from that point avoided. the wizard managed to get three chaos players to fall down but just to see the ball get picked up by a CW. Chaos the scored in turn 8. At kick-off the elfs tried to do a setup for a one turn goal but a perfect defence roll made that inpossible.

In the second half chaos tried to have a defence possioned further back. After the elfs had choosen a side to go on the majority of the chos forces where moved to that side. so then the elfs moved to the other side. but chaos managed to get the minotaur next to the ball-carrier. after a snake eyes roll when trying to get away the ball was droped and the chaos managed to get hold of the ball and score once more.

Thanks for a good game Kvasilad

Thanks for the game, you played a solid match, but this week's numbers are eerily similar to last week for me.
D6: -1.67 vs 12.78
2D6: -6.94 vs 19.86

Don't know what I've done to upset Nuffle, but this has been a rough couple of matches that have felt pretty hopeless.

After a very fought match that could have gone either way, Ratdonald's has obtained a very important 2-1 victory against a strong opposition and a skilled coach. Nuffled bailed me out of some critical mistakes, and also paved the way with the first kick-off event.

The game was marked by a turn 1 blitz when Necro received. A shallow kick made it possible for the rats to set up a cage, and score a 1 turner on defence. The game became very difficult for The Silver Hunters from that point on, since Skaven had the upper hand. After using the wizard on the wrong ghoul (the one covering, not the carrier!), the rats still managed to knock the ball loose, trying to score a quick 2-0 to finish off the game. However, TGA came back impressively and finished the half by scoring a desperate touchdown in a very dangerous Pouring Rain. 1-1.

The second half started badly for the rats, with snake eyes on the pick up roll. However, only a zombie was around to mark the ball... the backfield, though was a battlefield. Werewolves and zombies surrounded the rats, which managed to stay in the pitch after some impressively bad 2d6 rolls from the Hunters. That, coupled with two Knock Outs on the two Wights, allowed the rats to outnumber the opposition that drive. However, many risky rolls had to be made to put the ball in the end zone, and the defence had plenty of single dice on the carrier to knock the ball loose. Still, Ronald Ratdonald (agi 5) saved the day with amazing ball handling, blitzing and dodging.

With two turns to go, the rain gave way to sweltering heat, and The Silver Hunters, out of rerolls, attempted a passing play, but the ball was fumbled by the agi 5 Wight and, with the only receiver knocked down afterwards, the match was over.

Great, intense game, TGA, sorry about your bad dice, it's been very entertaining and open. Thanks for the game.

PS: Any chances of Barmution vs J-Reedy being streamed? I'm away from home but I'd love to watch that game live!

33'000 had come to see what team would be the last team in the league, and they got what they paid for!
An intense game that would wait for the last turn to settle!

The rain was pouring down heavily over the field, and that made the ball very slippery, which both teams got their shared deal of...

First half the elves got the ball and tried a left-side slow defensive advance, but the humans knocked out a couple of elves, and pushed a couple out for the audience to handle, so the pointy-earz (sorry, already going in to my orch-role for next season) had no chance scoring...
One of the runners tried dodging out to get in a better position, but the slippery field almost killed 'im... Thank Mork for the great Apothecary the team had...

Second half the oomies.... Sorry, humans, tried a pass in the first turn...
Not a good idea...
The ball missed its target and the AG5 witch elf got the ball in her hands.

Now it was only defensive play that followed, but this game the Imperial armor of "Getingarna", not even da un of da ogre, wasn't tough enough to withstand the aggressive elves, so finally the pointy-earz got da ball in to da endzone...

Thanx fur da game, hakos!

Waaaaaggghhh da Freeeebooooterz!!!!

--- transmission lost ---

Sorry, bout that... See u next season in a greener form... :D

Thanks for the game, it sure was intense, with a lot of fumbling.

I think there were two decisive factors for this game. My bad armor and the decision of that pass in turn 9. I could just have walked into a cage instead, which I would have done in at least 9/10 matches. Now I wanted to farm some SPP to level up my guy, but it backfired badly.

Anyway, time to consider what to play next, will probably be some heavy hitting team.

It seems next season might get gruesome... With equilibri and hakos going bashy, and me considering some mutant action (nurgle or chaos), it sure will get violent fast :D The thing is these races are not that dangerous for their first 10-20 matches, so it might take a while to see those super bloody outcomes.

Thanks for the game Luiggi. It was very entertaining and well played from both sides and I had lots of fun even with the first turn.

No biggie, Barm, I'll check the result later.

By the way, I made a small miscalculation about td average, if you two draw, that triple tie at the top will get messy to decypher :D.

Thanks to J-Reedy for making in interesting in spite of overwhelming snowballing in the 2nd half. Those whistlers really are gents!

So, we get the same final as last season. Time for your revenge, Barm.

Heh, we'll see about that. Your team is such a bunch of stat-freaks... I've just got to pray that the wizard fizzles or that your rats die in droves :p

- I say, what's the club we'll be playing against today?
- It's those scientific circus folks.
- Oh, the carny-midgets, those folks with the funny hats! This should be a fun little outing.
- All righty gentlemen, unfortunately I have to say that there aren't any whistle-inducers on the opposing side today, but let not that get you down. There's always some fine whistling material in the stands, so keep an eye out for them but remember to keep your eye on the ball also!
------
- What kind of stadium is this? There's fire coming from those cracks. Are we hovering over something? I feel like we're hovering here!
- Oh, don't worry mr. Orson, I'm sure there's a sound scientific principle behind everything.
- I say, do you see that nurse over there?
- What, where?
- There, in the injury dugout, there's a nurse on the injury dugout of both sides and ours is a whopper!
- Oh, now I see her! Yes, a double-whopper even so. WHEE-WHEE!
- Nice wolf-call mr. Geri. But shouldn't we be kicking off now?
- Right you are, those scientific folks chose to receive, so let's give the ball to them!
------
- Oh now, looks like mr. Hercule got knocked out. How unfortunate a happenstance.
- Well, do not worry, I'm sure coach and the injury crew will get him fixed up in no time.
- Oh boy, did you see that?
- What, where, how, what?
- That whistle-inducing nurse just kissed mr. Hercule on the cheek!
- WHAT! Don't tell that to anybody else.
- Why shouldn't I mr. Auric?
- It would upset the others, I'm sure of that, so stay quite mr. Avery.
- Oh, if you say so.
------
- How peculiar, mr Auric got knocked out from a blow I've seen him take dozens of times. You know, the elbow crack to the face. He says he got so used to receiving that blow from his wife while he was alive, that it only feels kind of tickly nowadays.
- Oh now, Droopy got knocked out also!
- What, from that puny slap? Mr. Avery usually shakes those off quite easily.
- Gummo's down! His jaw is broken.
- What a ghoulish affair!
- Gummo is having an affair? I thought he wasn't married?
- Oh, poor choice of words, mr. Arsene! LOOK OUT! That wasn't very nice, mr. centaur, hitting a fellow when he is having a nice chat. But I must recommend you on your fashion sense, that hat really does suit you.
-----
- Ball is out!
- Finally. Well, I'll go get it then.
- You do that, lady Freki!
- I say, she is a wizard with that ball. OH, LOOK OUT FOR...
- That looked like a nasty hit, is she...
- Yes, knocked out. It was that fashionable centaur again.
- Well, looks they get the score anyways, I thought we had them there for a moment.
- Don't worry, mr. Geri, I'm sure we'll be okay when our players recover from the knock outs!
-------
- I say, why is only lady Freki back from the KO bench? Where are the rest? Do you know anything of that, lady Freki?
- It's that whistle-inducing nurse - if she is a nurse, maybe we should check her crendentials - looks like she don't know any other way to treat patients than to caress them in her arms and kiss them on the forehead or cheeks.
- DON'T... Well, you said it. Hope everybody didn't hear that... Alrighty boys, looks like we won't get the TD, not enough time for score! Let's prepare for the second half!
------
- NO, I DON'T WANT TO GO! LET ME BACK!
- GET HERE ON THE FIELD, MR. HERCULE! AND YOU TOO, MR. AVERY, I SAW YOUR EYES FLAME UP!
- Damn that nurse, why does she has to be that whistle-inducing. Well, at least we have 11 gentlemen on the field... Let's go the work gentlemen!
-----
- Ahem, I say, mr. Sherlock, do you know where everybody has gone? Looks like it's just four of us, mr. Teddy and lady Freki here and those scientific folks have taken the ball away?
- Well, mr. Moriarty, I have to deduce that we have been struck by an injury bug caused by that affectionate nurse.
- What nurse?
- That one over there, haven't you seen her? Everybody is talking about her and how she treats wounds with kisses.
- Oh. OH! Now I see her. Oh my, seems like that dwarfish fellow is going to block us, let me handle this, dear Sherlock.
- You be my guest, mr. Moriarty...
CRACK!
- Oh, do get mr. Moriarty, you can't really suggest to me that that small blow broke your jaw! I remember your little party trick that you do with your jaw! You said you broke it couple of centuries ago and you can... Oh, well, looks like it's up to me to do the heroics, should be simple, I just dodge out, like this... Oh, almost slipped there... Like this... Oh, no...
------

Well, Barm got the win and the ticket to the finals. No complaints here, war of attrition just turned slowly into Barm's favour as it should with the skill-set of his players. I had a distant chance to equalize at one point with a 1d frenzy+dodge combo that turned into 1d block, 1d block, dodge, dodge and the final dodge proved to be too much and after that it was clear sailing for Barm with me being 5 players down at that point. I think I ended the game with three zombies and werewolf on the field. So good luck in the finals for both Barm and Luiggi!
