Jumping the gun a bit here, but if MD9 is rolling now or very soon, can you play on Wednesday Luiggi? It seems to be the only surefire option right now until next Monday.

If you can't make Wednesday, please post your availability, and I'll see if I can juggle some things around.

Ogre vs Vamps...

A highly entertaining game.. that was not decided until very late in the game.
Thanks for the show Gnaar!

Thank you B!

Yea it was a great match even though the 1's was as frequent as ice in antarctica :)
Mostly for the vamps though, wich im thankful of. Even though the ogres dices started to get real ugly in the end.

Anyway, as mentiond before. Good match. The OKWF are starting to see a loss in attendance during matches. What we fear now is that people are starting to see that this in reality isn't wrestling. Hulk better start getting those casualties again or this may have dire consequences for the federations popularity among the people of the Ogre Kingdoms.

The Boots manages a comeback after getting smacked about like nobody's business in the first half:
Equi's 2d6 blew in across the Boots like a violent storm but the Humans managed to weather it somewhat and after the World of Cheese's initial onslaught calmed down av7 broke like backs on a mountain. After being left with 3 Gutter Runners and a Rat Ogre on the pitch, Equi decided that discretion was the better part of valor and left the Rogre in charge of operations, something that netted said Ogre a quick boot to the head and a trip to the dugouts.

Thanks for the match, Equi. I think the turning point was when my killer took out yours late in the first half and your poor KO rolls left you with so few players left on the pitch for the second. Kudos for playing so balls to the wall up to that point, though. Was a fun and exciting affair! Gl further on mate, and let Edmund shine ;D

It was a chaotic match. It was an even match. It was a derby match between Hakos and Lasseman. And the result was even.

It all started with a pitch invasion. Lasseman started his first turn with 6 players on the field. After killing* one elf in the first hit of the match Hakos got to start with 5 players in his first turn. The wide areas of open space favoured the speedy elfs which managed to get the ball and mark all the dwarf players, except one. Unfortunately this one was a bull centaur which could get the ball loose. The ball bounced around and the elf got a 3+, 2+ chance to score in turn 3 but failed. After that the dwarves got the ball under control and scored in turn 6. In turn 8 the elfs got another 3+, 2+ chance to score but failed again. First half ended 1-0 to the dwarfs.

The second half saw a classic elvish 2 turn goal. First turn all elfs except the thrower ran into the dwarf half. Second turn the thrower cast the ball over the heads of the dwarf to Hurricane, the best receiver in the game and he could easily score.

The dwarf then tried to score the winning goal but barely got over the middle line. They actually got caught in a big mass in the center, surrounded by elfs and never advanced any further. Thus the match ended 1-1.

* The killed elf were later resurrected from the dead by the apothecary.

My bad, I checked the thread but I must have missed your first message. I had work on Wednesday so I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway.

I have family visiting this weekend so it's unlikely I'll be able to play then. If it was the case it would be on Sunday evening (19.00 onwards), though I would have to confirm it tomorrow.

The sooner I can play next week is on Thursday, since I am not free until then.

OK, I'm back in Finland and to my surprise the match week 9 is still going strong. Looks like the last match is scheduled to be played on Thursday, so TGA, can you play either on Wednesday or Thursday? I'm still off from work this week so almost any time should work for me. If you can't make it, it'll be an admin win for you, that is clear.

BTW, we have to have a league-wide conversation about if and how we should start enforcing stricter time limits? Is one week enough or should it be extended? Ideas? Suggestions?

Now I'm going to go for a walk to try to stay awake, been awake almost 20 hours with 10 hour flight and it's just 17.00 so can't fall asleep now or I'll wake up midnight.

Personally I don't have a big problem with a couple of matchdays going on two weeks, some are over in much less than 1. It's kind of hard to assign the blame sometimes as well... one thing is if an opponent is a no-show, then it's straightforward. But what if player A can play only on Tuesday and Thursday and player B only during the weekend, for example? Idunno, I'd rather see the MD extended and the game played sometime the week after than to have a lot of admin draws ('cause I guess that's really the only alternative?)

Welcome back jr.
I have no trouble signing up for a obe week schedule.
But as this league is very friendly I'm considering 2weeks schedule also.
When the last game is finished for a week.. we forward the day. Meaning a 2 week play could be down to 1 day.
Unlikely that everyone can finish in one day of course but there is a chance.
After two weeks we forward the game unless its extreme reasons..
Client being down for a week or x-mas period etc.

This totally open is bad for new players in this league as kit means less prio.. we will manage anyhow and then we can lose players due to this reason.
Of course we can also attract players for the same reason.

So me friendly vote would be 2weeks of deadline for each MD.
Then we have to see what happens when/if bb2 gets released and how that looks.. later question of course.

Cheers
Brother B

My vote is for not to change anything at all!
Have not had any problem with some MD:s getting delayed (except the abstinens of playing against you guys!) so why change anything?

Some MD:s have gone by very quick, while some is more slow with perfectly good reasons. Let it be that way!

I could not agree more!

Sometimes the abstinens is hard ;D. But people have real life too and i dont think that forcing a time limit is the way to go. It's much better for the two people involved in a matchup to decide whether they have stretched the MD for too long or not and do as we use to do. Ask in the thread "is it ok if we go over time?" etc.

Norsca is a great place with great laid-back people who are looking for fun. Let's keep it that way ;D

By the way, going off topic now.
Is someone by any chance going to this years GothBowl in Gothenburg?

I like the 1 week tempo. Sometimes it is slightly longer, which is ok, since some days are very fast instead. Perhaps we could be more flexible when we have big holidays? And I do consider "sportlov" as a big holiday...

Perhaps we could have a 1 week soft deadline and 2 week hard deadline? Meaning that we aim for 1 week and longer times should only be exceptions. While after 2 weeks the MD is just forwarded, regardless of how many matches that are left.

Anyway, I'm flexible but tend to lean towards 1 week MD's.

Beerbellyz took the game. 2-1. I kept rolling only 1s and 6s :)
(ok, mainly 1s)
Thanks, based on that I'll validate the game now.

Muller, be sure to upload the game when BB-M is back in business, thanks.

Discworld took a 1-0 victory over Da Beatmores, mainly because the orc players kept wondering about the playing field that was carried around on a back of four elephants. More detailed match report later, too jetlagged to anything else now but to crash to bed.

Phins win 3-0 in a horribly bad nuffling. I think there were 2 players left on the field out of the 16 man GobDogs roster at one point. Sorry about those dice, Luiggi.

EDIT: BBM up again, stats do not really reflect how skewed this was dice-wise.

THE LEGENDS OF BLOOD BOWL, ISSUE NUL18:9

How many of you know Heelsworth? Heelsworth, you say, who is he? But the correct question should be: who was he? This week the normal reporting machinery broke down and we had to rely on old fashioned hard work to be able to dig out all the interesting facts we know you hunger for. So, it is quite understandable if you missed Heelsworth. He was a new lineman, preparing for several years and finally got to play his first match today, and you can probably guess in which team by his name. We wonder; are the players recruited because their name fits the theme or due to their qualities? Anyway, he was new, and he was killed in his first match, by an angry rat ogre. That was his 5 minutes of fame.

#6, Value 160, 'Edmund Emmenthaler' is officially our first emerging star. After a well deserved rest he is back in his normal fantastic form. One touch down and one pass is a passable result after an injury. Apart from being the most experienced player he is also the number one thrower in the league.

#75, Value 90, From the biggest star to a player that might have had his breakout day today. 'Karaz' the dwarf was the best pain giver today with 3 well placed punches, probably in the lower body parts of his opponent's.

#31, Value 120, And since we like pain so much we should definitely mention 'Jared Bloodrick'. After today he can call himself veteran. A veteran killer, that is, since he managed his second kill this season.

#19, Value 140, Another expert in the bloody art is 'Charlie Cheddar'. He has only hurt 3 players so far but with his hard hitting mighty claws we predict a blood red bright future for him. The only thing that might slow him down a bit is the fact that he also broke his neck this match. But who needs to be agile if you just aim to hurt? Given his devotion to give it all for his team it should not be surprising that he was named as the most valued player of his team, for the third time. What a way to become a veteran.

#43, Value 110, Normally we would not mention 'Hurricane' here since he was not part of the original rooster at the start of the season. But it is hard to argue when he is the best receiver in the league. 9 catches is what you could expect from an expert catcher at this point of time, but he didn't score his first touch down until today which meant he has stayed out of the spotlight. Today he was also named the most valued player of his team. This might be the start of something big.
