Okey-dokey, Lars. I'm pretty busy for next days with a work project but things should clear up next week. But here are my OK starting times (CEST) for now:
- Sunday 11-16
- Tuesday 18-21

Let me know if either or those suits you, sir. I'll probably get more info about rest of the next week sometime during weekend. If you know about your free time on next Wednesday/Thursday, suggest a time and I'l try to find time for that.

Hi Hakos, I can play pretty much all day Monday, as well as evenings Tuesday and Thursday. Probably Friday/Saturday as well, although the latter two are a bit less sure.

I can play this saturday/sunday (23/24th) may almost any time. Not certain if you meant this weekend or next weekend. Otherwise monday 25th will be a good option (starting between 18 to 21).

Ah, I was not being clear, but I do tend to list days chronologically, so the weekend I was talking about was indeed not this first one. Monday 25th at 1800 sounds perfect to me, shall we book that?

I'm basically ready any time on Monday due to it being a national holiday, can you play then?

I could do a game starting as soon as possible if you see this (so 19.30 and onwards). Otherwise none of the other days are possible sadly. Don't know about next week but maybe wednesday or thursday.

THE LEGENDS OF BLOOD BOWL, ISSUE NUL19:3

Welcome back to "The Legends". It is time for a quick follow-up on one of our more popular article series. "NUL 18: emerging legends". 3 match days have passed in their new season. Let's check and see if the emerging star's from last season still shines and if we have some new candidates for future fame and glory.

Two teams left the league for the season which means we will not see some of our favorites, like Dogob, Balldog and Count Alec the Handful of Tacos. But the biggest names are still there delighting fans with their skills. We start with the two biggest stars of the league.

#1, Value 210, Everyone knows we will write about 'Edmund Emmenthaler' so let's start with this showy star and get done with it. Edmund continues to be THE star of the league. He continues to rack up SPP's, on average 5 per match so far. And he continues to be the one doing the most touch downs. Quite good, considering his team was not part of the play-offs. What should be noted is that we see a new and improved Edmund. Being the one with a target on his head he has started to fix up his already incredible shape and gained a 50% increase in muscles. All in all, this means he is #1 on our list on both value and spp's.

#6, Value 170, We do have one other star in the league than can challenge Edmund, and it is no less than 'Sandalf the Wise'. This is a player that just keeps getting better and better. He was a key contributor when "The Boots" won the championship for NUL 18. Where Edmund is a symbol for grace, Sandalf is a symbol of violence. He is the clear leader of the most violent table, with 17 badly hurt opponents, more than one per match he plays in, the runner up has "only" managed 11. So far this season he has managed 4 cas, including one kill. And he is truly built for hurting. Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Piling On and Frenzy makes for a fearsome player.

We already look forward to match day 9 when these two giants will face off. Now, let's continue to look at some of our emerging stars.

#25, Value 140, There is more than one famous rat in the league. 'Chuck Chevré' is a new emerging star that clearly has impressed most of all this season with an average of 7 star player points per match. With 1 MVP, 3 TD, 3 PASS, 1 CAS and 1 IT he has also managed to score SPP in all possible categories. Only Aeolus managed to do that last season, but Chuck has now done it in only 3 matches.

#26, Value 140, 'B'Maul McCargnagey', the player that gives stage diving a completely new definition. Is this the new Sandalf? With exactly the same skill set, minus the frenzy but making up for it with his awesome stage presence the case can be made. He earns his wage by hurting players, 11 so far, but he also scores sometimes, just ask his groupies who wait for him to score with them, one more time. All in all, he is slightly behind Sandalf but he also has played two matches less. One of the more interesting changes this season is that his team, Da Beatmores, performs very well, while the human boots, not so. There is potential for a new star and a new king of hurting here. Even if it is only broken hearts.

#11, Value 160, And among the emerging stars we find yet another rat. 'Charlie Cheddar' has a lot of potential, even if he has only managed 3 casualties this season. He now sports the fearsome combination of hard hitting blocking skills combined with claws of adamantium that can cut through any armor. He has one weakness though, he is not that agile so perhaps he will not always have the possibility to reach the opponents expensive players but will just face an endless row of rookie lineman that have not yet learned to fear him.

And finally we have some other players that have not reached the same levels of fame but anyway managed some fantastic things in the first 3 match days. Let's call them players to watch out for.

#34, Value 130, 'Castor' have had a fantastic start of this season with an average of 6 spp per match. Second best start after Chuck Chevré. This veteran player knows how to receive the ball and score. But have now also started as a specialist ball retriever. That is, retrieving it from the opponents ball carrier. He is the first player in the league combining wrestling and tackling to present some new moves for the audience to oh and ah about. Combined with his high movement it is easy to understand why he managed to get two of his team's mvp awards in three matches.

#119, Value 40, And last but not least, or, hrm, well, he actually is the smallest player in the league after all. 'Little Jimmy' a.k.a. the flying snotling is an experienced dirty player. As all snotlings he is small and easy to throw by his ogre companions. What is unique about him is that he managed to both keep the ball, land, dodge and score, twice, in the same match. Apart from that this cunning snotling also knows a trick or two about how to damage an opponent that is on snotling level, i.e. lying down.

And that's all for today, time for more blood, more bowl and more fun. We will check back again after day 6.

Diary of a roadie

What a feces of a day today. We had a gig at the chaos dwarfs and that always spells trouble. Even the pure chaos cities are bad, its just so... chaotic. But these dwarfs take the chaos to new level. Remember the last time we were here, I went to the store to get some roadie tape and came out with a bucket full of road tar and a cuckoo clock that ticked backwards and a dragon looking that came out at midnight screaming curses and spitting out acid and fire at midnight. And then there's all the centaur and minotaur dung on the streets 'cause those hobgoblins that are supposed to clean the streets are more interested in pickpocketing visitors and just lazying around. That's just the reason why I have mouse traps on pockets every time I visit these kinds of places. But I have to say that there is some order even in this place, I've never seen so many beard grooming and curling shops and so many different kinds of beards with millions of different kinds of bells and whistles – and I do mean literal bells and whistles that those little buggers tie to end of their curled beards. And of course those hats shops... Must be some kind of complex, some of those hats they're selling are taller than the guys wearing them.

Talent had a helluva gig last time we were here. And they even played good Blood Bowl match also although I think that was because of the spectacular gig. The team we played against was some kind of local band assembly that had all kinds of weird folk that think themselves musicians and they had also negotiated a deal that they got to warm up the crowd before the talent's gig. And that they did, I must confess. Never have seen dwarfettes – at least I think they were female, I mean you can never tell 'bout dwarfs but at least they screamed like women, but to come to think of it, that doesn't gurantee anything, I mean I once toured with that Mikey Jacks guy who could scream really high, but I think those dwarfs were dwarfettes cause most of them had pink ribbons on their beards – and also hobgoblinettes get so angry and violent when they realized that they weren't going to see the Fab guys but some local guys. Luckily our talent decided to come out early before the crowd could rush the stage and put a hurt on those unfortunate would be musicians. Well, one of those Jummy Sounds guys – that's what they call themselves – that big minotaur guy, Parsley or something, the one with the cone like hairdo, got so angry because of that that all he did during the Blood Bowl match was just stand around and scream and roar. Or that's what I thought, I bumped into the guy on the corridor during the halftime and he was the nicest guy that can be, offered to buy a me a new buggy and hamburger and asked what I thought about his singing during the match... No wonder talent hit it so big here if that's what they call music here.

Well, that gave me an idea. I told our talent and muscle that every time one of those dwarfs guys would scream and yell at them, they should try to look like real amazed and awed and say things like "That sounds awesome" or "Way to hit the high notes, dude!". And then bonk them in the head. And boy did that work, just as I suspected those dwarfs were just trying to impress our talent with their "singing" and everytime our guys would compliment them, they would raise their head surprised and go like "Really?!". And get smacked straight into the face. Clear sailing from then on. Just like the gig was today, talent did a bit of a routine performance but with these guys, even routine is enough to knock down at least a dozen teenettes with every wink. So our muscle still had work to do but nothing they couldn't handle. Just one big minotaureennette but luckily she was after Lennyn so muscle got some help from Joko Ono.

Well, the gig went well but the BB match was a bit more hairy this time. Those guys were clearly well prepared and they had even hired this Halfling guy who was cooking up the most delicious soups and bake stuff and fanning their flavors to our bench. I knew that the article in last month's Girly Teen Creatures Monthly magazine would come to haunt us. You see, our talent told in their interview for that rag-mag all the stuff they liked. That always spells trouble 'cause fans start sending that stuff like crazy and we get flooded with pinky fluffy troll dolls or something crazy like that. Well, this time Hairyson had mentioned, I quote: "our bodyguards really like strawberry cake with blood filling so we try to get them some everytime we visit different places because we're fab like that". Well, guess what the Halfling was baking? Yeah. There was no keeping our muscle in check as they were looking to the opposite dugout with their necks long out. So those Jummy Sounds guys managed to bunch up our offence and we just kept struggling at the midfield until the last minutes when Lennyn finally found an opening and ran to their end. One of those centaurs still caught up with him put luckily he only managed to push Joinz and then B'Maul got there and it was a clear lane to the goal.

Second half was a bit easier. That foolish Halfling had used his own blood while baking the strawberry blood cake so he was a bit tired and our guys weren't so distracted this time. Also Sarge slammed the kick off right to the corner so Jummies had a long way to go. They got close to breaking through but then the ball-carrying centaur fell down while trying to go too fast and then it was a muscle-fuzzle for the ball from then on with each side getting the ball out and then loosing it. It finally ended when that clumsy centaur didn't manage to get the ball from a handoff at the final moments with Da Word guarding him. Well, it was a decent gig and a decent result from the match. I'm guessing next week will be bit different with us traveling to that strange dark elf city built on a giant disc.

Basic bashy match with lots of armor breaks against 9-armor players on both teams but those gave out nothing but stuns and a couple of KOs. Lars played nice defence on first half and it took me until second to last turn to get an opening and even then I had to take a blitz from centaur to score. Orcs managed to hurt couple of hobgobbos which gave me man advantage for second half. Deep kick caused the c-dorfs to get split and I got pressure on ball-carrier. Double-1 on gfi caused the centaur to lose the ball but a dwarf got it. The result was a four turn wrestling match at the mid-field where ball changed owner three times and ended up lying on the field when the ref blew the whistle. Nice game from Lars, thanks again for the game and good luck in the rest!

Holy crap. So many twists and turns.

I was sure I would win, then I was sure I would lose, repeat that a couple more times, and you have the rollercoaster ride that Nuffle provided us with this matchday.

Hakos won the toss, and let me receive first. Probably a good choice, to defend with all elves on field first. Seemed like an easy score for a skink, until the sure-feeted guy snake-eyed a gfi into the end-zone. Sigh. Well, with lizards still at 11, the control of the field was sufficient to score already the next turn. 1-0 lizards.

Elves got the ball, broke through on the flank, and all efforts to stop them proved futile. Easy equaliser for the elves, making it 1-1.

With still 3 turns to go in the first half, there was still plenty of opportunity, and lizards managed to up the score to 2-1.

Hakos gets the ball in the last turn of the first half, and I set up defence against a one-turner. Hakos sets up an offence that's not really trying to score. And then, there's a riot, and suddenly there are two turns left in it. Hakos knocks a path through, and through some tremendous brainfarting, I did not managed to knock out the one guy that could actually score. A well-deserved 2-2, although it had more to do with my laughable idiocy than Hakos' brilliant planning that particular turn.

Half-time at 2-2, and the lizards have failed to reduce the elves' numbers in any meaningful way. There's still plenty of match to play. It should be noted that Eldril Sidewinder had been playing for the elves, but spent the first 3.5 drives enjoying the company of the busty bloodweiser babes far more than he should, and failed to show up for the actual game most of it. He was back for the second half, though.

Excelsior get the ball, and again mount a solid offence the Phins seemed powerless to stop, upping to 3-2. Not very eventful, all things told.

Phins scored again in the next drive, making it 3-3 and all to play for.

The last drive, 3 turns to go, and it's Hakos' ball. The lizards get a pretty good defensive scheme going, until the 2d blitz for the block/tackle saurus results in a double skull re-roll double skull. At this point, I pretty muh gave up. Then, Hakos' accurate, safe-throwing passer failed to deliver an accurate pass, and after not being caught, it bounced beautifully the maximal length away from any elves.

My +ag skink managed to pick it up and pass it to a skink closer to the end zone, and after solidifying an improvised cage around him, there was no stopping him. In the last of many unexpected twists, The Phin Phighters stole this match 4-3.

Thanks for the game Hakos, it truly came down to Nuffle in the end.

After the Vamps KO'ed my killer on their first blitz I thought I was in for a rough ride but soon enough the dice turned in my favor, allowing me to remove a vamp who promptly failed to regen after getting apoed from -MV to MNG after putting a boot in their killer. After that the Dark Souls had a couple of brilliant turns where they failed nothing at all but then Nuffle proceeded to give mr. B the full fist treatment, snake eye dodging a Blodge vamp to -ST and promptly failing regen. The vamps managed to score after some frankly amazingly played turns by B but I eventually managed the equalizer with some pretty snazzy d6.

Start of the 2nd half the Dark Souls were down to 2 vampires and it did not get better as my injury dice were on fire and pitch removal was ridiculous. Thralls took a heavy beating with perms being delivered willy nilly, usually by players with no damage skills (who were making up for Sandalf's slow day) and eventually I got in the winning TD in spite of some inspired plays by B.

Thanks for the match and sorry about the damage, B. You truly got a season's worth of cas in one match.

OK, I'll get back to you about next week but one of those times should work :)

It seems I got another game 20:00 on wednesday, so it would be nice if we can play thursday instead.
Do you think that will work?

Yeah that would most likely work just fine.

Np Barm.. I had this coming.
Thinking of my game vs the cheesy Rats last season.
But it is a strange thing.
It's usually Humans or W/P-elfs that hurt the vampires the most.
But who shall complain ehh.. I did get 2 BH out of 6.
And one mng.. 4 perms in one game.. two -st..
But I had the money.. most are already replaced.

Cheers.. and thanks Muller for the info.
Validate it when I get home... unless it is already handled by then.

Match validated and I also added the admined match to BBM. Doesn't show in the stats yet but I guess it takes a time.

Also, big thanks to Hakos for the latest Legends article. Made me chuckle many a times!

What happened with the final game? No report? No BB Manager entry?

It's played, I won 2-1. Didn't have time to add it to BBM. It was a rather fun game where I got an early numbers advantage forcing Eq to do some crazy plays that sometimes succeeded but not often enough. I managed to grind the second half out 2-1 with the ball loosing for parts of the half. Then Eq tried for a one turner but his rat ogre decided that it was a good idea to fail his wild animal roll making it impossible for him.

Thanks for the game, it was fun :)

Also my apo saved another death today. That guy does make good on his salary :D
