Thanks for the game!

It's true that the first couple of turns really went in my favour. But I already felt like I was losing the game while I was scoring my first touchdown in the first drive, and I had a centaur and a guard/mb dwarf in the dugout. Lo and behold, it went downhill even faster than I expected in the last part of the first half. Come second half, it was obvious that I had nothing at all to fight with.

Well, the master chef did his job for sure, you had no re-rolls the entire match, but I think it only really burned you once in the first half.

Either way, well played, and good luck in the finals!
Yes it changed but that turn when you lost the Bull and the dwarf it more or less meant you could not stall.
Opening for a draw first half.
And then with the momentum keep it and secure the game.
Those ag4 gobbs and 6 rerolls meant lot could be achieved.
But I understand the way it unfolded.
Apo burned and securing the last ag4 with a foul (red card) might prove good next season then.
But let's see.. one big game coming up now.
See how much I will have left for the next season.
GG cheers

Well, losing the bull and a guard/mb dwarf, I still thought I could go on (although the sinking feeling was definitely there). But keep in mind that this was just the first drive. By the end of the first half, I had lost one more dwarf and one more hobbo, which meant I fielded only 9 players against your full-strengthed 11 at the start of the second half. To be honest, the only sensible thing I could hope for was some lucky removals, so maximizing my strength and fouling did make sense from that perspective. My team could not hope to stop yours from running it in being understrengthed and undermanned. As it happened, the foul failed and the player was thrown off the pitch, followed by more removals going the wrong way (from my perspective). I hardly think trying desperate moves and dividing my strength across the field had more hopeful outcomes at that point. It may have made a more entertaining second half though, but most likely more disastrous for me :P

But given that the gambit failed, I was relieved to at least have retained one of my two AG players for the next match, to be sure.

How is a Thursday 21 Scandinavian time?
I have a feeling I will not see the final this time.

Well, I will certainly not bet against the coach that has won 4 out of the last 4 seasons, which is every single season since re-joining NUL! I got a bit lucky in our regular season encounter, don't think I can count on that again.

But yes, 21 on Thursday sounds like a good time, let's meet then!

NUL regular season 44 is in the books!

With hakos' Freak Flower Stars missing the playoffs by the narrowest of margins.

The matchups will be:
Logen's Lot vs. Kung Fury
The Grayskins vs. Lustria Lunatix

The final match of regular season 44 has been played! There was plenty of violence, although surprisingly few lasting scars in the end. Star agility player of Logen's Lot, Mr. Poulder, nearly got a surprisingly deep root canal, but the team's apothecary intervened in the last minute.

Overall, a rough match, where neither team had much success with anything really.

Thanks for the match Lars!

Hi Lars, although my hobgoblins are claiming that their teeth are 'well gudd ta chew wif', I suspect there might be an issue or two that can be adressed.

I'm free this evening (Thursday), and can probably do most of Sunday. Evenings next week also look open here.
We are out of anesthetic but if you can manage without that i am open to start at 19 Sunday

/Lars

Sorry about the late reply, but yep, that works!

"Rudd Threetrees. Rock of Uffrith, they called him. No bigger name in all the North. Great fighter. Great leader. Great friend. Lifetime o’ battles. Stood face to face with the Bloody-Nine, then shoulder to shoulder with him. Never took an easy path, if he thought it was the wrong one. Never stepped back from a fight, if he thought it had to be done. I stood with him, walked with him, fought with him, ten years, all over the North. I’ve no complaints."

- Harding Grim

After arriving somewhat late, Logen's Lot won the toss and chose to receive. There was little movement from the line of scrimmage, except for the stubby feet of dwarves and chaos warriors bashing into each other. The turning point of the first half was when The Wretched Spawn was injured, and some opportunities to push forward opened up. Even then, desperate measures had to be taken, and a long pass from Poulder saved the day, like so many times before.

The Beast was back for the second half, and this time revenge was on the Chaos Warriors' minds. Spirit Crusher pushes Rudd Threetrees into the arms of Gutwrench, who brutally kills him on the line of scrimmage.

Yet the dwarves persisted, and the offensive line was blocked from advancing. The Wretched Spawn, although back on the pitch, seemed to have been extra confused by a blow to the head, and frequently missed his marks.

We had not heard the last from Spirit Crusher, as he bore down on Jezal dan Luthar, smelling blood from the comparatively minute stature. But he's come a long way, has Jezal. Remembering his wrestling training that all nobles go through, he managed to wrestle the huge warrior to the ground. A turn later, forgetting his noble background but remembering the various dirty tricks from shady public houses after poker nights turned ugly, he found the weak spot in Spirit Crusher's armour when he was down, and promptly crushed his neck with the tip of his ornate footwear.

The fall of Spirit Crusher was symbolic indeed, as it seemed like the tide of the fight was turning against the Spawn. Poulder once again managed to snap up the ball and pass it forward, with Pike managing to run it in for the 2-0 go-ahead.

Despite what the score says, that was a very tough match that could've tipped the other way very quickly. Either way, a very intense and fun one, thanks for the match Gnaarkill!

Match Day forwarded!

Kvasilad, Tags... whatever your name is, you are going down brother!
There is no room for dwarves in the realm of chaos! Bring it on little man 8)

Any day better than the other for our clash? :-*
My OK starting times are something like this:
Tomorrow (Thursday): 21
Friday: 19 - late
Saturday: 18 - late
Sunday: All day
Monday: 19 - 21
Tuesday: 19 - 21
Wednesday: 19 - 21

Oh hai Mr. Gnaark! We do like to punch above our weight/height! There are uncertain options during the weekend, but I think safe options are Monday from 21 or Tuesday/Wednesday from 19. In the interest of a good night's sleep, should we aim for Tuesday at 19 perhaps?

It's hard to tell from the stats, but that was a rollercoaster of a game with some very surprising moments! It could easily have been 2-0 or 0-2 instead.

Anyway, thanks for the match WiGdoor!
