THE LEGENDS OF BLOOD BOWL, ISSUE NUL18:7

The warm-up phase is behind us. No mercy is shown any more. This was definitely the toughest day so far. A total of 5 players were killed, 4 more got permanent damages. 7 were just badly hurt, which of course is to be expected then you sign the contract. Two of the dead ones truly gave it all for their team and earned the most valued player award, post-mortem.

Not even the best players in the league were spared with one veteran killed, Lord Wellingtons, and another veteran, Edmund Emmenthaler, badly hurt. In total the rat team, that has been performing really well so far, was the team hurt the most. They will only be able to field 6 healthy player's next game. Will they be able to come back from this?

#47, Value 100, The lizard team continues to impress and the deadliest player on their team today is the aptly named 'Jared Bloodrick'. With 3 causalties, one a clean kill, in just one match he impressed enough to be featured here. On the other hand, he is a bit uneven, every second match he does nothing and the rest he shines.

#25, Value 120, If Jared's performance is a bit up and down. 'Rincewind' is quite the opposite. He is now one of only two players that have managed to do something worthy of a star every match. The other one is Killy Turner. Perhaps day 3 was Rincewind's best day when he managed to do 3 passes in a single match. The only player to match that is Edmund.

#56, Value 90, 'Noshow Moreno' has been a quiet fellow so far. But perhaps he has been inspired by his teammates. Today he was awarded the most valued player award in the lizard team after scoring an important touch down. And with a speed equaling even a gutter runner, this little skink might very well do much more in the future. If only he manages to protect his niggling achilles heel.

#74, Value 80, 'The Gutter' strikes again, and he strikes hard. Last week he made 3 cas and 1 td. This week he made 3 cas and even managed to kill a gutter runner. This thrall is rapidly becoming the star of the vampire team. We wonder what the vampire's think about that. Aren't they supposed to be the evil, deadly guy that everyone is afraid of?

Kauppaopiston Opet for the WIN!
<cut>
there were only six High Elves on the pitch
<cut>

Good description, although it was only 5 players on the pitch for me in turn 13.

Thanks for the game, it sure was an entertaining, back and forth show. I had good dices, can't complain, clearly better than average. Kezerk on the other hand had fantastic dices. That combined with both our tendency to like flashy and fancy plays made for a crowd pleasing, chaotic but perhaps not always flawless game.

Started good for me with a quick score in turn 3 and a blitz after that and captured my own kick. Lost the ball and tried to do too much fancy stuff so I had to be satisfied with just stopping his equalizer.

In the second half  his tough thrall armor combined with my paper thin good-for-nothing armor made it impossible for me to defend and he score the equalizer in turn 13.

Last drive, I was the receiver, but a perfect defense combined with a kick that ended up on the LOS made it quite difficult. Could get the ball with fancy elvish plays but not into safety. He pushed my player with the ball into the crowd (should probably have made one GFI to avoid that) and it bounced badly into his half. It was not a given for him to score though, he had to run quite a lot, pass block and dodge but managed to get 2-1 in the final turn.

Congratulations to your first win. I clearly need to learn more about how to play against vampires.

The OCC game starts at 1800 CET, so it should be over by 2000 CET; 2100 CET by the latest.  So yes. 2000 CET or so is doable.

Ok, I will start to check in here from 20 and at least each quarter until 21. See you.

Hullo Hakos.

How's your schedule?

I'll be busy this evening (OCC match at 17 EET/16 CET), and will be OOT from noonish to 1700 EET/11-16 CET) tomorrow. Other than that, I'll be around for the weekend. Monday evening I'm booked, and I have a big deadline on Wednesday (which means I'll most likely be busy working on Tuesday).

- Kez.

I'm available any time on sunday

Thanks for the match J-Reedy and by the way, I spelled incorrectly. The correct name is Shibuya and you want to visit the Shibuya Crossing. It is one of, if not the most, busy place in the World.

THE LEGENDS OF BLOOD BOWL, ISSUE NUL18:6

What a day, what a matches. Killing, hurting, scoring and intercepting everywhere. Two of our biggest stars met each other, Edmund and Hulk, and they clearly got inspired by that. The lizard team was on fire with double intercepts, triple casualties and more. 4 players killed in one single day, including a black orc. These are the finest of blood bowl days.

#71, Value 80, 3 CAS done by one single player in one single match is really violent and we have not seen it since the first day. But today two players managed it. Even more impressive is that one of them also managed to do a touchdown. Talk about a busy day for 'The Gutter'. This thrall is definitely one of the most versatile players out there. He has now earned star points in all ways possible except passing.

#1, Value 190, What do you get for 190k of gold? You get the single most expensive player in the league. You get the strongest player in the league. You get the most annoying tail in the league. You get 'Bamalam Wake'. Ok, ok, technically there is a stronger player but we do not count players with secret weapons in this newspaper, since they are, you know, well..., secret.

#2, Value 180, 'Hulk Hogre' is back in business. With 2 new casualties, one a kill, he showed that he is still as fearsome as ever. With that he also joins the rank of veterans, based on 8 casualties in total. Talk about Ogre single mindedness.

#46, Value 100, Intercepts are unusual. Two in the same day is rare. Two by the same team in the same match is exceptionally rare. An intercept by a saurus is unheard of. 'Great Garner' is the player who defies normal standards.

#11, Value 140, Last but not least. 'Edmund Emmenthaler' continues to show that he is the master and of course got awarded as the most valued player of his team. Apart from that he also did 2 pass and 1 casualty to really show his flexibility. He is one of only 3 players to earn star points in all matches so far and he have earned them in all ways possible except doing an intercept, but it is probably just a matter of time before he does also that.

A 2-1 win for the dwarfs. Not much to do for Hakos. He  was nuffled so hard in this game. Sorry for that Hakos, it was sad to see the rolls you did.

I have to say this was one of my worst matches ever. Let's consider the following results from the 1D6 rolls:
Failed pick-ups: 2
Failed pass: 4
Failed go-for-it: 3
Failed Dodges: 7
Failed catches: 1
Total Chance: -16.09

I sure got to see the nice red Turn-Over text quite often.

Other noteworthy things from this match: 2 blitzes, one for us each meant that only one drive was a "normal" drive. Also, the sun was very hot, which I didn't saw until late, so it kind of explains some of my failures. Shame on me. Edit: Oh, I forgot, we had two deaths as well. The difference was that mueller's apo know what he did while mine did not.

Of course, I should not blame it all on the dices. Mueller played a very stable game which meant I had to do more 1D rolls than I would like to do.

THE LEGENDS OF BLOOD BOWL, ISSUE NUL18:5

It seems the official match reporting has taken a time out. Nevertheless, do not fear, our hard working reporters are still able to bring you the latest information about impressive players and their daring feats. With no further ado, here are this weeks featured players.

#14, Value 130, Sometimes one player is the team. 'Duke's Dear Freja' had a brilliant day and almost singlehandedly defeated FC Excelsior. The vampire started by hurting the elf thrower so badly that he never was able to do any passing play at all in this match. After that she put the nail in the coffin with 2 touch downs and 1 pass. We can only tip our hat in appreciation for the lesson given.

#18, Value 120, 'Killy Turner' is one of only 3 players that have been doing something worthy of a star in every five matches so far. It should therefore not come as a surprise that he now have joined the veteran club. With his strength, blocking capabilities and mighty blow he will be a fearsome player for all opponents to face.

#51, Value 90, The most unexpected match win of today goes to the goblins, after out-bashing a dwarf team. Apparently there are some bookmakers that have gone out of business, unable to pay the promised gold. Perhaps the bombardier, the fanatic or the looney should be praised for their hard, but dirty, work. No, here we the celebrate the goals and the mighty pogoer 'Dogob' who managed to score twice in this match.

#23, Value 120, In an intense but unreported match there was one player in the center of attention. 'Susan Sto Helit' from the Discworld Allstars managed both to kill a snotling and score one goal. However, the ogres did not like that and hurt her quite badly in return. But we are happy to report that this tough player will be fully recovered after some rest.

#1, Value 170, 'Rage Against The Sardine' is now considered both a veteran player and the single most valuable player in the league. Even more valuable than Hulk Hogre. So what have this player, worth 170 000 gold, done? Not much, just 3 goals and being elected to the most valuable player in his team, twice. Well, not bad for any player.
