- Hey, Mack. Did'ya hear the new NUL seasons is starting this week. Ya'wanna go see a game with me?
- Nay, Donnyboy, didn't hear that! Of course I'll come, nothing beats seeing a decent NUL beating. And little flesh of course - so when are the Cougar Kittens playing?
- They aren't, no amazon teams this season.
- Crap. What teams are there then?
- Well, if yar yarning for a bit of flesh, yar best bet would be The Partly Animals, they have their wardancer duo, ya'know. At least in their first game against the rookie dwarf team Axe and Anvil. Don't know how many of the wood folk will be left after that game, especially if the dwarfs manage to sneak in some axes onto the field.
- Oh, bad matchup, those elf types tend to trip on the beards of those little buggers. Hmm, that's not my cup of bloodweiser, I don't like one-sided violence. What's the heaviest-hitting game on the first round?
- Easy, that's the Chaotic dudes at the Mad Science Fair affair.
- So, little chaos folk against big ones. That might be too violent for me, I get squeemish every time a dwarf blocker hits on beastman, they tend to hit too low and I had that issue in the sauna last year - ya'remember, got my privie parts stuck between that crack in the bench. So I gets evil flashbacks everytime one of the blockers makes a "beastly beastman ballcracker bash" play.
- Oh, yeah, I remember, heard yar scream all the way from next door. Well, how about the rookie underworld team Radioaktiv! versus the Warpstone maniaks?
- Skavens against skavens and gobly types... Do the Radioaktiv have a Troll? Would be interesting to see some gobbo tossing.
- Sure do, his name... hmmm, I guess it's a he... otherwise he wouldn't be a trolly but a trollop... So anyways, he's called Beck.. Bek... Becquerel.
- Right, that could be an interesting matchup. Fast play, guaranteed violence 'cause if the trolly don't catch the opposing rats, he'll surely get hungry from running after the rats and might grap a side snack of gobbo from his teammates. But just to make sure, what other games are there?
- Just one left, more gobbos, rookie goblins Dueling Banjos 'gainst the Opa Gangnam Style. Banjos got a pair of trollies, DingaSinga and BazBux.
- Two trollies in a goblin team, that might be the deliverance that they need to win any games. Opa's golems sure will have a hard time against them. Don't know Donnyboy, I'm torn between this one and the the rat-hacking game. Which one d'ya fancy?
-All the same to me, let's think about it when we walk to the ticketing booth. We better get the tickets soon before they run out, word about the town is this is going to be a smoking hot season.
- Oh, so they've allowed the selling of Ear Smoking Pepper Seasoning Hot Weredoggyweaners at the stands this year?
- Sure have.

Aah, playing time again.

Bantha, I can play tomorrow (sunday), monday and wednesday evening.

About sunday (tomorrow): I can play whenever but since I do not know how often / when I will check the forum I cannot guarantee I will be available if the time between your reply to actual playing time is too short.

Thursday to Sunday I'm away celebrating GothCon (might even be playing some real blood bowl if I'm able to borrow a painted team).

I might be able to play on thursday if nothing else works out, but I would prefer not to.

johoohno

#10
First match of season 10 is in the books. It included 3 TD's, about 5 casualties and one death. Just as a blood bowl match should.

The surprising part? The permanent damages + death was all on the necromantic side since the necromancer himself was too busy with the cheerleaders to even think about helping his poor team.

3 trolls + some secret weapons and plenty of bribes for the judges was a bad combination, for the opposing team.

It started as expected by the necromantic teams running over the goblins scoring a quick TD in T4, could have been T3 but I wanted to hurt some green punchbags first.

After that I got a whiff of hubris and tried to go for 2-0 but it only lead to me thinning out my defense so much that the pogo dancer showed his best moves in my touch down zone, in T8. 1-1 after the first half.

In first part of the second half I had a better defense. So much better in fact that he had to move from side to side a couple of times instead of forward. In T13 I got my chance after some patient waiting when he failed a dodge and left his ball carrier whide open. I blitzed with 3 dices and got the ball loose, moved in with my ghoul to pick up, with a RR, and failed. And here the match was decided. If I would have succeeded I would have been almost safe in his zone with a nice wall between his team and the ball. Instead, I realized I had been soo eager that I tried the pickup too early and was severly out of position. He could pick up the ball instead and move it to safety.

It was also around here, maybe just before or just after that the chainsaw guy got my best player, the werewolf Xie Xie. Dead. 18 spp lost. Sigh. It was good we didn't have any sound at that point of time, although my neighbours probably still wonder what happened in my apartment...

Together this made me completely frustrated and totally lose all concentration. He easily made one more goal and even though I had one more shot at evenening the score, I blow it due to lack of focus.

In total 2-1 to the goblins. Well played Mr B.

Mr B

hehe, thanks Hakos for the thrilling game.
Sorry about the wolf.

And it was a troll that caused the TO, and a "normal" gobbo who made that RIP.
Not that it matters.

Good luck in the games to come and I'll look forward to more game reports from you, nice writeup!

Thanks

Well, there you see, I was not myself after that death, didn't remember all the details. Just assumed it was the chainsaw guy since he had been quite successful in the match.

At least I had enough gold to buy a new werewolf immediately.

A thrilling smackdown between two Chaos tastes that taste chaostastic together resultet in this exciting draw:

We both more or less won our respective receiving halves, with both coming close to shutting down the other's drive but victory wasn't to be for any of us. First half Lasseman received and had a troubling start as his feared minotaur got a 1/27 skull/bd/bd combo and ate an RR with loner. That, however, marked the end of his misfortunes as I couldn't make him fail any d6 roll for the rest of that half, including pick-ups in the pouring rain and dodges into tz's with ag3 etc. In the end I got a Bull surfed (no injury, luckily), a hobo KO'ed and another loner hobo hurt off for my troubles and had only managed a single KO the entire half. After Lasse scored, the git promptly woke up, was KO'ed at the LoS and then WOKE UP YET AGAIN  >:(. Niggle, my ass... that goat is just lazy!

2nd half started way better for me as my Claw dorf managed the only cas of the entire match for me (15 armor breaks, several with MB and against that niggled dude, 1 lousy cas... my dorfs were wearing their chaos mittens again) on Lasse's Block/Guard Warrior who was curiously put on the LoS together with the Block/Guard niggled Beast (you might want to reconsider that tactic, Lasse). The match quickly devolved into a scrum near the LoS and our Minos exchanged blows, both leaving the other stunned at a couple of occasions, but ultimately nothing much came of it before I was in a pretty good position to secure the draw. Lasse was hammering in GFI's without RRs to get his Diving Tackle Warrior into contact with my ball carrying hobo, but the 4th one failed (PHEW!) and the draw was a fact. During the scrum a dorf was BH'ed and a Beast KO'd and finally a hobo BH'ed at the LoS at the last kick-off, but I think we were both counting ourselves lucky to have gotten out of it as intact as we did.

Thanks for an exciting match, Lasse! Next time, please tone down those d6 rolls so I can actually  have a shot at slowing you down :p

Sounds like a good bb game.
Nice write up I think I'm going to watch this later this evening.
