All right, time to sign up for the 12th season of NUL! You can signup by replyin to this post. If you're a new coach, remember to read these rules.

Following coaches have pre-signed up to the 12th season and they're speculating about following teams:
- Luiggi - new team, skaven perhaps
- Equilibri - Klar Karond Seahawks (delf)
- Barmution - new team
- Kvasilad - new team
- The Golden Arrow - ?
- Hakos - new team
- J-Reedy - new team probably
- Lars - new team, dwarf/undead

I'll add in new signups to this list. My own situation is that I'll be out of country almost all of October until start of November. If we stay in the 10 to 12 team range, I should be able to get through all of the season but it might be possible that I'll have to forfeit later games depending how the league goes. I'll probably roll a new fun team that has slender chances of success so that I won't mess up the playoffs race. Or if there ends up being uneven amount of teams, I can drop out from this season.

It seems that most if not all of the coaches will be rolling new teams. To avoid the talk about allowed TV values at the start of every season, I suggest that we agree on some kind less-or-more permanent season structure. Here are some options, if anybody comes up with anything different, please speak up:
A. Every season with no TV limits. Every season is played without any team value limits, you can bring any team from previous NUL seasons.
B. Three/four season sets with growing TV limits. We'll play first season with a low TV limit (1200?). Second with higher limit (1500?), third/fourth with even higher (2000?). After the third/fourth season we'll start a new set of three/four seasons where first season will be the low TV, second higher, and so on.
C. We'll play every other season with a low TV limit and every other without TV limit.

All of these choices have pros and cons. It's up to us to decide which system we would like to use, so let's here some opinions!

As to the league structure, we could may agree that the number of the teams decides the format. So if there are 6 to 8 teams, only 2 make it into playoffs. With 10 or 12 teams 4. 14 and more (if we ever get that big) 8 teams into playoffs.

OK, time for me to shut up and give you a chance to speak up. Remember that NUL is a democratic community, everybody has a say and every opinion is valued!

Lars

I will be on vecation for about 3 weeks but is we start after that I can join whit a new team dwarfor undead.

Luiggi

I like both options B and C. Option A might be a bit too hardcore to new players who don't have a veteran team or coaches who want to start over... inducements are not bad to compensate at higher TVs, but rookie teams with just a few skills here and there can't really compete versus a full geared team, even with the help of Morg and company.

B sounds interesting with the growing TV limits, granting some flexibility and diversity to the league. Since there are not too many different coaches (at least for now!), spicing it up a little bit with different teams every few seasons sounds good.

As for option C, I can also see it happening... it would give us a "Minor NUL Championship" and a "Major NUL Championship", depending on the TV limit chosen for that season.

Barmution

B or C for me too. C is interesting because new coaches can play their "serious" teams in the low TV seasons until they are comfortable in joining the high TV seasons and put in a team that makes the most of inducements or just cause carnage (hello, gobbys!) in the high TV seasons for fun up to that point.
Build a man a fire and you keep him warm for the night, set a man on fire and you keep him warm for the rest of his life.

equilibri

I think B is the best option.
Joining this season (11) with a new team was pretty harsh, but I knew what I did, so I had fun anyway!

I think if the TV-limit is reseting to 1'000 every 4:th season we will have different seasons, and players can try out new and different teams without having to play against the totally nuts teams that has been playing for infinity! :D

All options (A, B or C) work for me, I'll adapt. I'm leaning towards options that encourage new joiners to the league though, so I guess option A is kinda off the table. As I've grown quite fond of our little corner of the internet, I'd really like to keep it going :)

As for this season, I'm pretty sure I'm rolling a new Khorne team, so I plan on cursing and losing a lot. On one hand, it would be good to have a lot of other fresh teams in the league, on the other hand it's easier to have excuses if the other teams are experienced :D

I'm going to have a lot of difficulty scheduling matches for the next two weeks, because of vacation and stuff. I'll try to get one in there in that period, but I may have to skip the first match, depending on season start date.

The Golden Arrow

I plan on playing my one season old underworld team. I think option C is preferable, B seamsa bit too rigid.

johoohno

I think I'll pass this coming season, even though I'm tempted to join in again (I had fun the last season).

Have a good one!

Seems I should reply here formally about what team to play.

For season 12 I will try something completely new for me. Time for Elfs. "Pro" elfs to be exact, or, in my hands I guess it will be more of "Amateur" elfs.

As for season structure, I can live with whatever, but I remember that it was quite hard then I started in season 7 with a new team and everyone else had developed teams. So in the intereset of promoting getting new players here from time to time I would prefer option B (primarily) or option C (secondarily).

Edit: And by the way, I can start season 12 whenever, but I have no problem waiting some weeks for other peoples vacations to be more suitable for a start.

The Golden Arrow

I can also start whenever we are ready.

Settings for now, 8 teams will play one "round robin" followed by one Cup, #1 vs #2.
Meaning all playes eachother Once.. and then top team playes runnerup team.

Let me know if I need to alter this.
I'll no be part of this more than admin this time, until I'll get more time ::)

Er... mr. B, I'm trying to apply my Flings to the cup but the minimum TV is 900 and the Cook 'n' Rollas are 590. What to do?

I'm trying to sign up my team on a very dodgy mobile internet connection in a cabin by the sea, but it doesn't really seem to be working very well :D

I'll try to get the team signed up by the end of tomorrow, as we'll be stopping by home for a night. I think I'll be able to schedule my first match without problems, as I'll probably be back on a steady connection by mid-week next week.
