Gurgeh:

Today is almost over, so I guess the game will be tomorrow or later.
These are my suggestions:

Friday 25/10 19:00

Saturday 26/10 19:00

Sunday 27/10 Anytime, really...

So, what do you think?

(I am swedish, so the time-suggestions are in Swedish timezone...) :D

The Material Ghouls start the season with a bang:

I think 1% ball possession for poor Hakos says it all. I got a blitz! on the first kick off and some incredible d6 (+25 in BBMan, 0 of 24 1s) which resulted in a shutout since his Elves had a hard time getting into my cage.

Thanks for the match, Hakos, one-sided as it was. Hope you fare better further on.

(And I'm also swedish.)

This match was a lesson in tight play from Barm. I had som poor luck when he got the blitz so I had to play defence the entire match. Not good for a pro-elf team to never have an attack phase... I followed my elven strategy of forming columns, only allowing him to move forward one step a turn. Patiently waiting for him to make a mistake or fail some dices, waiting for my opportunity to strike. But it never came. Good play from your side Barm.

I think the odds for a draw would've been good if not for my ridiculous luck with the blitz and (especially) the d6. You played a very disciplined column defense and I was a bit surprised that you didn't try some Elf BS but considering the odds for getting something out of it beside a broken team I can understand it. Well played, you just didn't get your dice right enough or mine wrong enough.

Go 11s for the Ghouls! You can do it!

Well, this game really showed that if elves (any kind) rolls a lot of ones (and double-ones) then elves are as bad as humans...
A nice and clean games from both teams, but the Dark Elves could have lost the game during the second half when the played really bad defending the ballcarrier. Thankfully the High Elves where so high on shiny armour so they fell to the ground turn after turn.

The Dark Elves couldn't defend against a full team of High Elves, so in the last turn they scored 2-2.

Thanx for an interesting game! Hope we meet in the final! :D

A game dominated by the dwarves surprisingly ended in a skaven victory. The first half was a standard grind. Dwarves KO'd and injured some rats and scored in turn 8, nothing out of the ordinary here (except that the Master Chef did not steal a single reroll). However, a Riot allowed the rats to set up a nice passing play, although the thrower failed an easy pass for the TD. 1-0 at half time.

The rats launched a quick offense on the left side and managed to put the ball to safety in the rival's backfield, despite a Blitz! kick-off result. An amazing play by the dwarf runner sent the gutter runner carrier to the hospital. However, the bounce reached a linerat, who handed it off to another gutter runner for the equalizer.

The last drive started and dwarven were outnumbering the rats (11 to 9), but a deep kick allowed the rats to put some pressure. The dwarves commited to the halfway line and removed some rats from play. They left an opening, guarded only by a troll slayer. A GR blitzed him, sent him to the ground and made his way to mark the carrier, who was left alone in the backfield. A mercenary blocker seemed like the only option to blitz the gutter runner and free the runner, but he slipped in the key GFI! The rats then took the ball, invaded the dwarves' backfield and let the clock run out by running away from the defense. The final touch down was scored in turn 15 and the dwarves still had two turns to score, but they lacked the speed needed to equalize.

All in all, an interesting match that could very much ended in a draw or even a dwarven victory, should the ball had been put in a cage when the result was 1-1. I was impressed by the success of the dwarves in the blocking department (POWs and Stumbles galore), although skulls started to appear in the second half to even out the dice (later on BBM proved it was just my biased perception, since dice were quite even). My rats also seemed to roll a good amount of 1s during the first half, but in the second one luck shifted and I barely failed any rolls. Good thing is that only a linerat got niggled, the rest are safe and sound for the next match! (same goes for the dwarves, who only got their armor broken twice... tough mithril!).

Thanks for the game, lasseman, and thanks for not dealing permanent damage!
