Mr B

Your welcome!
It was a nice game that really swung back and forth..
Again it went NOOOO to Ooohh this could be it.. just to get slammed shut NONONO again.

And so it went, One skill for my boys catching the MVP made the shit.. also same dude scored the first TD for this team.. so well earned.

And now goblins next.. Tackle smells quite Ok to pick even if Block sounds better.
What do you think Muller  ::)

Weren't Orcs supposed to be easy to play? And hard to kill? :D

Anyway, that was a rough game between my Orcs and Luiggi's Chaos side, which featured a lot of bashing, turnovers, and not a single touchdown. Imagine that. It also featured a dead Orc blitzer, which I'm not too happy about. Oh well, at least my team didn't roll over and give up like last match.. here's to match day 3 following up the positive trend!

...yup, missing my wood elves already.

Anyway, thanks for the game Luiggi, it was at least interesting positionally.

Orcs and Chaos settle for a 0-0 tie in what was a very interesting match dominated by both defences. With no skill to perform any sort of magic with the ball, the game kept going in a bashfest with lots of stuns but very few removals. The brawl got really violent in the second half after the crowd killed one of the visitor's Blitzers, and sadly that was the most relevant play of the match (apart from a throw from the crowd into a beastman's hands... talk about the Home Factor!).

The minotaur performed admirably, knocking out a black orc and then injuring another one in the first turns. The orc's MVP was a blocker who dealt a key casualty near the end of the match, and thus he got a well earned promotion.

Another 1 on the winnings roll got me stuck with only 60k... I thought I'd be able to get another CW by now but I guess I can't complain, the beastmen got punished today but fortunately only Badly Hurts happened.

Thanks for the game, kvasilad, really nice one with skulls, turnovers, crazy bounces, solid defence and ultimately a (imo) fair result for what was seen on the pitch.

PS: If you don't mind the advice... I think you should try not to start your drive with the team split in half (10 players on the LOS and only the thrower in the back). Orcs are very vulnerable until they get the cage at midfield, so it's always a good idea to have some pieces escorting in the backfield in case things get ugly... I think this mistake put you in a very uncomfortable position vs Lizards and this game I could also mark your carrier by turn 1.

Yup, thanks for the advice, I do seem to consistently fail at caging up with these guys, so I guess I do need to be less aggressive.

The wood elves suffered hard in their first game and the trend continued when I scored the first BH already in round 1. Basically I played with 1 or 2 or sometimes even 3 guys more on the field the entire game. So it did not feel as even as the numbers might indicate.

First half the woodies started with the ball. In the beginning they formed a cage and tried to get me dizzy by switching sides every turn. I played it easy and just marked his guys as much as possible. He was faster than me but not by much so when he finally managed to pass my line, he only got 2 escort girls with him. I could get the ball loose and after he failed two GFI in two consecutive turns I could score 1-0 in turn 8.

In the second half I started according to plan. I.e. passed the ball twice just to level up two guys and then formed a cage. Was prepared to start moving when his war dancer did her crazy stunt and just waltzed through my entire defence and stole the ball. Lasseman had placed is guys masterly. All my guys were marked and I could only get 1D blocks. Despite that I managed to get my witch in range to make a 2D block vs the war dancer, but got some skulls. He could then run away and play it safely for a few turns before he scored in turn 13.

3 turns to score. Turn 14, got the ball and built a cage, also got some threat into his half so he had to split his forces. Good. Turn 15. Ran to the left side and positioned my entire team there. 5 guys in potential striking distance. Good. But the Wood elves defence were good, after a series of blocks and chain pushes I only had one guy within scoring distance in turn 16. And he was not in a good position. Anyway, 1 block later I could score if I succeeded with a 2+, 4+, 3+, 2+. Not too bad since I had a RR. Let's go, hand over, Dodge, Dodge, RR, GFI and yes, score, 2-1.

P.S: Lars, you should probably try to avoid getting into contact with my guys as much as you did. AV 7 with no defensive skills tend to get hurt if they are too close...

Yikes, you must have gotten at least 3 or 4 level ups, MD 3 is going to be a walk in the park for the Elves against my rookie Chaos :P

Mr B

All valid and lets rock on to md3.
Thanks all for working on this one week schedule!
