Hi, I have realized that I can play at 18 but that it would be much better for me to start at 19 instead. Would that be possible? /Hakos

THE LEGENDS OF BLOOD BOWL, ISSUE NUL19:3

Welcome back to "The Legends". It is time for a quick follow-up on one of our more popular article series. "NUL 18: emerging legends". 3 match days have passed in their new season. Let's check and see if the emerging star's from last season still shines and if we have some new candidates for future fame and glory.

Two teams left the league for the season which means we will not see some of our favorites, like Dogob, Balldog and Count Alec the Handful of Tacos. But the biggest names are still there delighting fans with their skills. We start with the two biggest stars of the league.

#1, Value 210, Everyone knows we will write about 'Edmund Emmenthaler' so let's start with this showy star and get done with it. Edmund continues to be THE star of the league. He continues to rack up SPP's, on average 5 per match so far. And he continues to be the one doing the most touch downs. Quite good, considering his team was not part of the play-offs. What should be noted is that we see a new and improved Edmund. Being the one with a target on his head he has started to fix up his already incredible shape and gained a 50% increase in muscles. All in all, this means he is #1 on our list on both value and spp's.

#6, Value 170, We do have one other star in the league than can challenge Edmund, and it is no less than 'Sandalf the Wise'. This is a player that just keeps getting better and better. He was a key contributor when "The Boots" won the championship for NUL 18. Where Edmund is a symbol for grace, Sandalf is a symbol of violence. He is the clear leader of the most violent table, with 17 badly hurt opponents, more than one per match he plays in, the runner up has "only" managed 11. So far this season he has managed 4 cas, including one kill. And he is truly built for hurting. Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Piling On and Frenzy makes for a fearsome player.

We already look forward to match day 9 when these two giants will face off. Now, let's continue to look at some of our emerging stars.

#25, Value 140, There is more than one famous rat in the league. 'Chuck Chevré' is a new emerging star that clearly has impressed most of all this season with an average of 7 star player points per match. With 1 MVP, 3 TD, 3 PASS, 1 CAS and 1 IT he has also managed to score SPP in all possible categories. Only Aeolus managed to do that last season, but Chuck has now done it in only 3 matches.

#26, Value 140, 'B'Maul McCargnagey', the player that gives stage diving a completely new definition. Is this the new Sandalf? With exactly the same skill set, minus the frenzy but making up for it with his awesome stage presence the case can be made. He earns his wage by hurting players, 11 so far, but he also scores sometimes, just ask his groupies who wait for him to score with them, one more time. All in all, he is slightly behind Sandalf but he also has played two matches less. One of the more interesting changes this season is that his team, Da Beatmores, performs very well, while the human boots, not so. There is potential for a new star and a new king of hurting here. Even if it is only broken hearts.

#11, Value 160, And among the emerging stars we find yet another rat. 'Charlie Cheddar' has a lot of potential, even if he has only managed 3 casualties this season. He now sports the fearsome combination of hard hitting blocking skills combined with claws of adamantium that can cut through any armor. He has one weakness though, he is not that agile so perhaps he will not always have the possibility to reach the opponents expensive players but will just face an endless row of rookie lineman that have not yet learned to fear him.

And finally we have some other players that have not reached the same levels of fame but anyway managed some fantastic things in the first 3 match days. Let's call them players to watch out for.

#34, Value 130, 'Castor' have had a fantastic start of this season with an average of 6 spp per match. Second best start after Chuck Chevré. This veteran player knows how to receive the ball and score. But have now also started as a specialist ball retriever. That is, retrieving it from the opponents ball carrier. He is the first player in the league combining wrestling and tackling to present some new moves for the audience to oh and ah about. Combined with his high movement it is easy to understand why he managed to get two of his team's mvp awards in three matches.

#119, Value 40, And last but not least, or, hrm, well, he actually is the smallest player in the league after all. 'Little Jimmy' a.k.a. the flying snotling is an experienced dirty player. As all snotlings he is small and easy to throw by his ogre companions. What is unique about him is that he managed to both keep the ball, land, dodge and score, twice, in the same match. Apart from that this cunning snotling also knows a trick or two about how to damage an opponent that is on snotling level, i.e. lying down.

And that's all for today, time for more blood, more bowl and more fun. We will check back again after day 6.

Hi Hakos, I can play pretty much all day Monday, as well as evenings Tuesday and Thursday. Probably Friday/Saturday as well, although the latter two are a bit less sure.

I can play this saturday/sunday (23/24th) may almost any time. Not certain if you meant this weekend or next weekend. Otherwise monday 25th will be a good option (starting between 18 to 21).

Ah, I was not being clear, but I do tend to list days chronologically, so the weekend I was talking about was indeed not this first one. Monday 25th at 1800 sounds perfect to me, shall we book that?

WOW, that sure was an epic match. 7 Goals in total, 7 Badly hurt players, 8 successful passes and 1 intercept. And one of the goals was even a one turn touch down. Sure was crazy dices in this match. Match rating 20/20, of course.

FIRST HALF - GOAL 1
Elfs started as receivers. Quite a simple 2 turner, the rats tried to put pressure on my thrower and left my lone catcher in their half alone. Some pushes later and the way was free for a 3+, 2+ combo to score.

FIRST HALF - GOAL 2
This one was a bit tricky for the rats since I managed to get hold of the ball. I was in a vulnerable position so decided to do a short pass, over the head of a gutter runner. Unfortunately the ball got intercepted and my safe throw failed so the rats got it back the same turn. They scored after a total of 3 turns.

FIRST HALF - GOAL 3
My turn again. This time the rats had a better defence but mostly I was the one doing the hurting. Except for my blitzer losing a movement Point. Took the safe road and scored in 3 turns.

FIRST HALF - GOAL 4
The rats had only one turn. I positioned my defence well. He managed to push his gutter runner two steps into my territory with some help from a rat ogre with frenzy but then his rat was stuck between two of my elfs. That didn't stop him from picking upp the ball, passing, catching and dodging 4 times plus going for it twize to score the 2-2 equalizer.

SECOND HALF - GOAL 5
Rats started as receiver. They were outnumbered by 11 to 9 but gutter runners are hard to stop. I attacked his ball carrier twice with my wrestle tackle guy and on the second attempt I got the ball loose. Got 3 guys close to it. But of course, he just moved Edmund into the end zone and Another rat dodged, picked up the ball, dodged again, passed and the goal happened.

SECOND HALF - GOAL 6
Now the player ratio was even better for me. 11-8. Not easy for the rats to muster a defense. I considered if I should stall but went for the quick 2 turn touch down in turn 13. Probably not the smartest move but more fun.

SECOND HALF - GOAL 7
So, the rats received the ball, number of players were 10-8 in my favour and so far no one had managed to stop an offence. The rats moved most players into one half, moved into my side and prepared to receive the ball. Then it happened. The gutter runner failed the pick-up and had no other rat Close to him. I could push him away, pick up the ball, and protect my ball carrier rather well. Equilibri considered his odds, and just hit some random players instead of trying to get the ball. I could score in my turn 16. One rat turn left, but he managed to roll a double 1 on a simple Dodge and thus it ended, 4-3 to the elfs.

Thanks for a very entertaining match Equilibri. Always a pleasure playing against you.

And the Dice stats in case someone wonder how we managed all we did.

Hakos!

Time to see how really is the best passer and catcher!

I can play almost every day from 19:00, so what do u say about this week?
Maybe today at 19:00 if u see this in time?

Tomorrow I may need to start a bit later, but thursday-sunday 19:00 works for me.

//Eq

Yeah, guess the ball might be more in the air than on ground in this match.

I'm busy for some days now but from friday 18:00 and forward I can play. How about saturday or sunday at 19?

Yet Another derby match have been played.

Last time me and Lasseman got a 1-1 draw and this time it was, surprise surprise, a 1-1 draw.

Actually, it was a surprise, I had a really good situation to score the equalizer in turn 13 but made a stupid mistake which made it possible for him to push out my ball carrier to the crowd. But I managed to get the ball back with some mighty running all over the field and a very long throw by a blitzer made it possible to score the equalizer in turn 16 instead.

The dice were mostly equal, I had better 1D result while he had better 2D result. And we both had 2 RR left in turn 16. All in all, I think we both played well, and it felt a bit like chess. Apart from the end of course.

The chaos dorfs were not that hard though, a total of 3 were killed in the match. Two by me and one by the audience. But the apothecary saved one and the crowd kill was a loner, so it was not that bad in the end.

And I got to level 3 players so I feel like a Winner, after all, when I compare to last time, since at that time I got 0 level-up and got 4 casualties against me.

Second match played. Elf derby. Last time we met it ended 1-1. This time it ended... 1-1, guess it is fate.

The result felt ok, it was clearly an even match the whole time. Golden was usually one guy ahead in the damage race but failed more dodges than I did which put him in some bad positions at times.

I scored by throwing, he by running, both of us in our own offensive drives. Nothing unusual there.

Most damage and/or interesting situations happened at the border together with the audience. I guess that is what happens when both teams have frenzy and/or sidestep.

I got a chance at a simple 3+ catch in turn 15 for 2-1 but failed it. Had no RR lefts at that time.

Good game Golden, I'm happy I didn't have to face your AG 5 blitzer (thanks Barmution :), that would most likely have given you the edge.

Good luck in future matches.

Hi Golden, looks like a nice elf vs elf affair in the first day. Looking forward to it.

I can play tomorrow (sunday) any time or next weekend, saturday any time, sunday afternoon or evening.

In the weekdays my playtimes are more limited but something might be possible to fix up if the weekends do not suit you.
